In the March issue of Tempo, the French version of an article on the Musée Lac-Brome Museum’s Fokker D. V11 airplane incorrectly identified the birthplace of former Canadian Prime Minister Sir Robert Borden who was instrumental in bringing the Fokker to the Knowlton museum after WW1.
The translation should have said that it was Senator George Foster, who had been deputy prime minister, who was born in Knowlton. Also, based on information on the Museum’s website, the article said the Museum’s Fokker is one of only seven surviving Fokkers in the world. In fact, it has been brought to our attention that there are eight surviving Fokkers in the world.
Exhibit reopening
The building that houses the Museum’s Fokker will reopen May 16. Information about the exhibit can be found at https://www.lacbromemuseum.ca/military-and-aviation
Other correction
In the March issue of Tempo, the author of an article titled Walking our countryside, about the local Les Amis des Sentiers hiking club, was incorrectly identified. In fact, Tempo contributor Richard Dubois wrote the article. Tempo apologizes for the mistake.
