All members of Council were present except Margarita Lafontaine. There were eight residents in attendance in person or by Zoom.
Construction and Development
11 permits for construction with a value of $1.4 M were issued in March. A patio will be built at the Thirsty Boot to accommodate 66 persons.
Professional Services and Bylaws
Offers of service from Vox, Cain Lamarre, Global Payments and Medial, were approved. Electric panels in the Town Hall will be brought up to code. Bylaws covering: Occupancy and Maintenance of buildings, Permits and Certificates, and the Control and Management of residual materials were approved. Notice of Motions covering Remuneration and a Code of Ethics for Elected Officials were approved.
Infrastructure Projects
12 tenders have been received to replace large culverts on Bailey and Town Hall roads. The lowest bid has been approved for each job. These are large culverts that carry small streams. The combined cost will be $726K covered in part by a provincial subsidy.
Community and Events
Two applications for approval of Cycling tours on West Bolton roads were approved. One small tour organized by the Laval Police Officers, Operation Enfant Soleil, will include 20 to 40 cyclists. The other larger tour of about 1200 cyclists is the Grand Tour de Velo 2026.
Support for Tour des Arts 2026, Special Volunteers at Brome County News, two West Bolton Youth scholarships at Massey-Vanier and the International Day against Homophobia and Transphobia (May 17, 2026) were all approved.
