A resolution was passed to initiate the process to send notices of default to property owners with outstanding taxes from 2023 and earlier. If the overdue amounts are not paid, these properties will be subject to a tax sale which will be carried out by the MRC on June 12.
A resolution appointing the SPA des Cantons the responsibility for controlling loose dogs was postponed. Clarification is needed as to whether it only concerns dangerous dogs or if it includes the agreement that council had negotiated with them for all pet control.
The road department will be carrying out tree and branch removal in February in the vicinity of Stagecoach and Fuller Roads.
A grant has been confirmed for the replacement this summer of a major culvert on Glen Road. This work had been planned for last summer.
The town council voted to support the RÉUSSIR education priority initiatives to encourage students to stay in school and continue with their education. Feb. 10 and 14 were proclaimed School Perseverance Days, and the town recognizes its youth and encourages them to stay in school. More info at http://www.reussirestrie.ca.
