A Fresh Chapter for La Pantry

A Beloved Spot in Knowlton Grows with New Faces and New Flavours

La Pantry began with the heart and vision of Leila El Harmaneh, who, alongside her business partner Ben Morin, transformed a humble storefront into a cherished local hub and gourmet destination. In just three years, it became a must-visit in Knowlton.

Now, a new chapter begins. A team of four passionate women — Safia Barrou, Alyssa Martone Martel, Camille Cloutier, and Lauriane Courcy — is taking over La Pantry, determined to build on its strong foundation while infusing it with new energy and ideas. Joining them in a related project is Chef Nelly Le Gloanec, who becomes a partner in Ensemble, the new wine bar opening next door.

For Safia, who spent much of her childhood in the region at her family’s country home, this new venture reconnects her personal roots with her professional passions. Together with Alyssa, her partner at the food marketing agency Origine — which also owns Le Gîte des Oies, a farm raising geese, guinea fowl, chickens, and Highland cattle — the pair share a vision: to highlight local products, strengthen community ties, and make La Pantry a true neighbourhood grocer.

What’s New at La Pantry
Starting June 1, La Pantry will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with an expanded selection that proudly showcases the best of Québec. Regular tastings will offer guests a chance to meet the local producers behind the products.

Introducing Ensemble – A Wine Bar Next Door
Opening in late May or early June, Ensemble will feature a seasonal menu of shareable dishes made with meats from Le Gîte des Oies, fresh vegetables from the region, and a curated wine list that includes local selections from La Route des Vins. The wine bar will be open Thursday to Sunday, 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Whether you’re a long-time Pantry fan, a weekend visitor, or a newcomer to the village, there’s something new and delicious waiting for you. And later this summer, keep an eye out — a locally inspired ice cream counter may just be the cherry on top.
